Miss. Evers’ Boys
Last week, we saw an interesting movie that showed us a history of darkness, which is the Tuskegee experiment from 1932 to 1972, in Tuskegee, Alabama. In the movie’s beginning, Ms. Evers was a nurse; she helped Dr. Sam Brodus to save people life. In their town, many people had syphilis, and they didn’t get treatment. The Dr. Sam Brodus tried to help them overcome the syphilis. Over time, Ms. Evers became friends with the patients. After Ms. Evers knew the government didn’t want to give more money to them for the treatment, she did all she could do to help them. Dr. Sam Brodus thought the research for six months or one year, but he was wrong. This research continued for 40 years. In the end, Ms. Evers told this experience on the court. She never tried to pass the buck because she admitted that she knows everything. The film ended with Ms. Evers sited in the cemetery, and she began to cry.
I cannot believe my eyes because US government always does righteous thing at this time. This movie shows us some negative sides in our world. I like this movie because the world is not perfect, we need to learn that mistake, and tell ourselves never do again. I can understand why the Dr. Sam Brodus choice to do the research because he thought six months or one year is not too long. After this short time’s research, they will give real treatment to the patients. However, the result was ruthless; they didn’t finish their research in that short time. I will not recommend this movie to my friend because I don’t want to tell this history of darkness to my friend.
